La La Land!

It's a shame that this truly visually beautiful film didn't win best picture at the Oscars!  however, in terms of cinematography and mise-en-scene, it is very well put together.  The conscious decisions make it nostalgic of 1950s melodrama and shows a postmodern approach to the composition of cinema.
